Cancellation & Refund Policy
We understand that plans sometimes change. This policy is designed to be fair to students while allowing us to schedule instructors and vessels.
Student cancellations
- 7 or more days before the scheduled class start: Full refund of the class fee.
- At least 48 hours but less than 7 days before the scheduled class start: 50% refund of the class fee.
- Less than 48 hours before the scheduled class start: No refund.
- No-shows: No refund.
The cancellation window is measured from the scheduled class start time in Pacific time.
Rescheduling
Students may request to reschedule at least 48 hours before the scheduled class start. Rescheduling is subject to availability and approval by Terminal Island Sailing. A rescheduling request does not guarantee a seat in another class.
Weather, safety, and school cancellations
Safety comes first. If unsafe weather requires a class to be cancelled, the class will be rescheduled at no additional charge. We will contact students with the revised schedule.
If Terminal Island Sailing cancels for vessel availability, instructor unavailability, or other operational circumstances unrelated to weather, the student may choose either:
- A full refund of the class fee; or
- Rescheduling to another available class at no additional charge.
Requesting cancellation or rescheduling
Email info@terminalislandsailing.com with your name, course, scheduled class date, and reservation reference if available.
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. The time for funds to appear depends on the payment provider and the student's bank.
